MEET OUR BJJ INSTRUCTORS

At Gracie Barra Utah, each school must have a black belt head professor who has gone through the Instructor Certification Program. The Instructor Certification Program certifies that the professor is aligned with the teaching philosophies of Master Carlos Gracie Jr., as well as, the values, standards and methods of Gracie Barra. It also includes a background check and CPR training.

The Head Professor will be responsible for instructing other professors or coaches under Gracie Barra’s standards, because when it comes to teaching this amazing martial arts that is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) to adults, teens or children, it’s not just about teaching techniques, but also about building character.

This school really believes in Gracie Barra's Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone motto. Whether you are just starting your Jiu-Jitsu journey, or have been training for many years, there are students of all levels and walks of life that LOVE training here and have a great time doing it. GB Salt Lake is a great place to learn for beginners or is great for high-level belts as well. I have been taking my 8-year-old daughter here for a few months she just loves it. Amazing professors and coaches very friendly. I have trained at a lot of different gyms here in Utah by far they exceed my expectations in every aspect. Very clean facility with amazing people for great prices.

Gracie Barra Salt Lake is a great gym! I was able to visit a few other gyms closer to where we live and no one can compare to the curriculum and atmosphere that Gracie Barra has. I can come to class knowing I'll be getting some good rolls in, great instruction, and I won't have to worry about someone deliberately trying to injure me. This school is definitely worth the 5 stars and the hour drive up for us.

Getting back into BJJ after a long layoff was quite daunting as a middle-aged practitioner. The West Jordan Gracie Barra school made it easy for me with a very welcoming environment. I immediately felt a part of the team, and the instruction is the best you will find anywhere. No matter your age or ability, this school has a place for you.

As part of a possible mid-life crisis, I decided to try Jiu Jitsu. I visited a few different gyms and after seeing the new facility and speaking with Coach Andrea and Professor Rodrigo I decided to join. Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable they have set up a great learning environment. I would highly recommend GB West Jordan!
